Mum and dad have been in the kitchen all morning listening to the wireless. Is it true what they're saying? That the bodies found all showed signs of receiving That?

Dad just left, now. He has to go to work. Mum's still in the kitchen, I can hear her crying. What is she crying for, she's not a witch, it's not her they're after! This is ridiculous. Amelia Bones hasn't been any better than Fudge you know. Wasn't this what Harry Potter was saying all along? "Don't leave the Dementors to their own devices, it'll come back to bite you in the arse." "They've probably joined You Know Who and it's only a matter of time before they're all out." But still nothing was done about it. And now this happens!

I wish he didn't have to be so right all the time. Those are supposed to be conspiracy theories!! This cannot be happening. I have entered some alternate universe where black is white and the sky is green and Harry Potter somehow knows what he's talking about.

Terry, I know you're somewhere in this house, and I am going to find you and then not let you out of my sight. I don't care what you say, I am not sleeping on the couch tonight. If Dementors and Death Eaters attack they will come in through the ground floor and the living room is really too close to all the main entrances thank you.

(I hope this doesn't mean you have to leave early.)

Home at last! I was going to write sooner but we got in late last night, and this was stuffed down in the bottom of my trunk under the last of my laundry and I didn't feel like digging through all that to announce my safe arrival.

How did my fellow ravenclaws do on their exams? I, for one, did quite spectacularly. An "O" in Charms amd Arithmancy each, with E's in everything else except Potions--I only managed an "A", unfortunately, thanks to Snape's horrible bias against everyone with good hair. But mum and dad were quite pleased, they've put it up on the fridge. What for I could never fathom, unless family comes over the muggles won't recognize it for what it is.

This will be a relaxing summer, I can already tell. By the way, Terry, I spoke with my parents about your visiting last night and they would be delighted to have you. Mum asked about your favourite foods so I gave her a list. I don't think you'll have to live in fear of cabbage while staying under my roof!

Mum's calling for supper. She's trying out a new recipe, again--I hope she doesn't burn it like last time. That chicken cor don bleu was absolutely inedible!

Well today's been boring, hasn't it? Nobody's doing anything special, I mean. Just seems so ordinary, really, people studying, teachers... teaching... Not even any interesting mail!

I think I'll take a break from studying tonight. Has anyone seen Terry Boot around? He's not in the library, and not in that room where they store the old portraits, and I haven't seen him out on the grounds anywhere, either. Weird.

Ah hah!

I found this thing hulking behind a disused armoire in the commonroom, and wouldn't you know it, it's mine! Seems like even my natter must resort to hiding to escape the affections of the ladies, nowadays. Not that I expected anything less, of course.

Just in time for another Hogsmeade excursion, as well! It feels like it's been ages since the last one, I'm already out of Levitating Sherbet Balls and I've snapped three quills in the last week on this bloody thing. I should probably buy it a new belt to keep it in place. Or a leash or something, to keep it from running off like that again!

As much as I would love invite some of the fine young women I've gotten closer to over the past few weeks, tomorrow's outing is part of a tradition that has been going strong since the latter half of second year, so! Terry Boot! Which stores do you need to stop at? I was thinking maybe Scrivenshafts first, get that boring stuff out of the way so we can have some fun in Honeyduke's, and maybe drop by that rare book shop you like so much?

Well I seem to have gone and lost my partner, which isn't too bad I suppose. Cornfoot has a tendancy to snore, and he's really an insufferable know-it-all. But I'm lucky I ran into Terry, otherwise I might have starved! I left my share of the rations with Cornfoot, you see, since they were really heavy and I didn't feel like carrying them. Come to think of it, I think he has my sleeping bag, too.

Mandy's here as well, and she hasn't been as annoyingly morbid as I thought she would be. I think she's actually--dare I say it--enjoying herself. Either that or knocking boots with Hopkins has seemed to mellow her out a bit. Good for her!

We took a nature walk today, stunned a few more beasts. I stunned a murtlap which was going after my shoe, and I almost managed to stun a diricawl, but it poofed off to somewhere right in my face before I could get it. Terry was quite impressive, though, he took down a cockatrice and a jarvey on his own, and ladies let me tell you, it was quite studly! If I were you I'd start qeueing up for a date soon, before he's all booked up!

He's embarassed. He shouldn't be. Anyway, on our way back I thought I saw something big lurking around in the bushes--and I mean massive--I think it was a troll but Terry says that's ridiculous, trolls aren't native to the forest. At any rate we buggered off before we could find out, though I wanted to try and take it on. I bet it'd be worth quite a few points!

Well, the score was tied until Hufflepuff's quite utterly fantastic chasers set things to right, with a score of 60 to 40! GO HUFFLEPUFF, house of certain feisty, amber-haired beauties!

What is Seamus Finnigan doing?

Every time I look outside there he is, leading a pack of brawling first-years past the windows, leading them in drills. It's like a little circus, quite fascinating. Humans engaging in uniform action! I've read about that somewhere.

Nevertheless, it gets boring watching them move in the same formations hour after hour.

Lost: One Terry Boot. If found, please return to the Ravenclaw Commons, with or without the damaged portraits he inevitably has in tow.

Terry Boot, there is a rather large box of sweets sitting on your bed (from whom I can only wonder) and if you don't get up here soon and eat them, I will.

Good heavens I forgot all about this! I don't suppose these natterers feed on words do they? Mine's looking a bit peaky and has been shuffling weakly across the floorboards ever since hols. It hasn't even nipped at me once. I don't suppose there's a vetrenarian for these things on hand so I suppose I'll just let it fly, see where it takes me. I can always buy a new one!

How the time flies when you're having fun. Charms club has been as busy as ever, they're talking about elections, since our current president is graduating this year and I might have half a mind putting my name in for presidency! Our current president is, of all things, a Hufflepuff so you can imagine the state of things; I'm sure the club would prosper much more under someone more capable, if you catch my meaning.

But that's not the exciting news! This Saturday's another Quidditch match, Ravenclaw against Slytherin. Sure to be a tough match, though I doubt their dirty tactics can outmatch our natural cunning and cleverness. I'm sure Chang has thought up a quidditch play by now though you can't be too sure with her. She's starting to get forgetful, you know, very fuzzy. I suppose it comes from old age.

Nevertheless, the Slytherin seeker's little more than a rat on a broom so I suppose even if Chang's team is lousy, we've still got a shot.

I want to play chess, but everybody's asleep. I suppose I could get Terry up, he's been sleeping lots. I'll give the foot of his bed a couple of good kicks and see if he's game.

Did anybody else see that? I swear I wasn't hallucinating!! But I was walking behind Hermione Granger on the way to the dining hall and I didn't see the whole thing because I was talking to Terry at the time, but then I heard this scream, and then I turned around and PHWOAR Hermione just jumped on Pansy Parkinson! They were screaming their heads off and pulling eachother's hair and groping eachother's flesh and I swear, it was insane!! {Professors Sprout and Snape managed to pull them apart and steered them off towards the headmaster's office, but they got a good bit of punching and kicking and biting in before they did)

It was so INCREDIBLY HOT!!!
